Staying engaged in the community is important to us at Harker. We appreciate all the team members who volunteered their time Friday at MedAssist to organize over-the-counter medications for those in need. On Friday, some of our team members volunteered their time and knowledge with Habitat for Humanity to help complete construction tasks for a house for a low-income family. Our volunteers took off work on Friday to help add trim and quarter-round to the new home in Grier Heights for a well-deserving family. In honor of Veteran’s Day this year, the Harker Team raised money for Veterans Go Outdoors. VGO is a is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization started by one of our own team members, Chris Yarrison, to take Veterans to the outdoors to aid in their recovery from military service related stress. Each year, VGO takes fly fishing trips that include lodging, equipment, and food – free of charge to the participating Veterans. We exceeded our goal […]

This holiday season, our team partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide items for the Metrolina location. As a team, we collected 324 lbs. of food for our neighbors! Thank you to everyone on our team who participated through donations and deliveries!

Our office team gathered on our patio for a pumpkin carving contest judged by Amy Johnson of Strata Project Management and James Thorp of Lincoln Harris. As Harker continues building over at Station West, a mixed-purpose adaptive reuse project in the FreeMoreWest neighborhood, tenants have begun to occupy spaces and open to the public. Last Saturday, October ninth, The Batch House held a grand “reopening” after losing their previous location to a flood in 2020. Harker is proud to work with Redline Design Group to bring The Batch House back to Charlotte. Check out this week’s feature on Good Morning America.

One of our recent projects, Krispy Kreme’s Charlotte Headquarters, was awarded one of the Top 25 Most Popular Offices in 2020 by Office Snapshots. The project placed number 17 in the world and 3rd in the United States. We are honored to have one of our projects recognized among many other extraordinary projects. The boxes were packed, trucks were loaded, and they headed off to Roof Above to be distributed to many members of community! Roof Above provides Welcome Home Kits filled with basic items to members of our Charlotte community who are moving into housing after experiencing long term homelessness. These items are intended to ease this transition. Our team was proud to partner with Roof Above to serve our neighbors during this exciting transition.
